The former American Idol contestant, Julissa Veloz, grows up and puts out her first commercial release "Take Control" on Carrillo Music. Julissa Veloz became widely known as an American Idol contestant on Season 8. Her "Tiara Girl" persona was adored by then judge, Paula Abdul. Julissa gained fame by asking Paula Abdul to return for her audition after Abdul stormed out of the room, being upset with fellow Idol judges, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson. Unfortunately, Veloz was dismissed from Idol after getting sick and losing her voice.

"I had a great time with American Idol. That experience taught me so much and I will be eternally grateful to everyone at Idol," stated Veloz.

"Take Control" is about a "man having enough confidence to take control of a situation with a woman," says Veloz.

"Take Control" is produced by international dance music producer Rod Carrillo, who has crafted productions for Snoop Dogg, Kaci Battaglia, Rihanna, Joanna Krupa and legends: Donna Summer, Martha Wash and Crystal Waters.

We're holding an ALL AGES photoshoot at Yogurt Stop in West Hollywood, and
we're hoping you'll join us! Everyone who takes a NOH8 photo at the event
will receive a discount on a Yogurt Stop frozen yogurt, so be sure to grab
some after your shoot!

You do NOT need to schedule a specific appointment with us; just be sure
to show up between the scheduled hours of 5:30pm and 8:30pm to guarantee
your participation in the shoot. The whole process is very quick and will
last about 15 minutes, give or take a few minutes depending on the wait. :)

All you need to bring is a PLAIN white v-neck/t-shirt, and we'll take
care of temporary tattooing one of our custom-printed, hand-drawn "NO H8"
logos onto your cheek when you get here! Other than that, please arrive
"camera-ready" (make-up and hair already done) as we will not have a
make-up artist available at Yogurt Stop.

"Animal", which was released on January 5th, is #1 album in the US, selling 151,942 copies. This also marks the biggest first week for an artist's debut album released in January in SoundScan history. This week marks Ke$ha's 4th week in the #1 spot on the SoundScan Digital Songs Chart and it was joined at the top by her second single "Blah Blah Blah" making its debut at #2. Music Sales Reach 1.5 Billion In The USA

Music sales are up 50% on 5 years ago according to new figures released today by Nielsen SoundScan.

For the first time ever, music sales exceeded 1.5 billion units, a raise of 2.1% over 2008 and 50% over 2004.

Digital music now accounts for 40% of music purchases in the USA.

The news is not all good news for everyone. Retail of physical product was down 12.7%, offset by a 16.1% increase for digital album sales.

Rock music was the most popular genre of the 2009 with 124,164,000 units sold.

The most successful label was Universal with 30.2% of the market.

The biggest selling album was â€˜Fearlessâ€™ by Taylor Swift (3,217,000 units sold).

The best selling artist was by album sales was Michael Jackson (8.286,000 units sold).

The best selling digital song was Black Eyed Peas â€˜Boom Boom Powâ€™ (4,762,000 units sold).

The best selling digital artist was Lady Gaga (15,297,000 units sold).

This week marks the beginning of 2010 and what a surprise we see on the charts.

Who would have thought Susan Boyle, a frumpy reality star, would be making such world history on album sales charts? Not me, but I love it and am glad she is proving the corporate record industry a joke! People still love good music and it doesn't have to come from an 18 year-old mess.

Speaking of hot messes, Ke$ha is making waves everywhere. Her song Tik Tok is becoming a phenomenon and stealing number one spots around the world and on iTunes!

Not only is new pop star Ke$ha beating out Lady Gaga at a time when Gaga's ego and record company really need the number one spot for Bad Romance and her album's publicity, but she is also confirming dance music is the Popular music of our day.

BTW, Lady Gaga's FAME MONSTER CD is terrible. Only a couple of good tracks on it and a big disappointment for me. I will give a full review soon. All I will say for now is that Lady Gaga is no Madonna.

Congrats Miss Ke$ha! You deserve this success and I personally LOVE Tik Tok! Read her Wikipedia page...girl's been at it for a long time. I look forward to seeing what else she's got. Time for some new blood on the scene.

the big opening event of the night and was inspired by his upcoming STORM
music video. With costumes and styling by Maggie Barry, the crowd received
a big dose of "knight in black" leather Joel Evan. Also taking the stage
during the NEXT MUSIC event was Natalia Flores and Pepper Mashay.

About Joel Evan
Joel Evan is an American singer/songwriter who writes and sings in both
Japanese and English. The powerful opera-trained baritone voiced artist has
released two albums independently. His freshman album ?Enjoy the
Sadness,? (March 2007) was released under the stage name, Jet Kanashi.
